This is why Mac only has 5% market share--they always pretend not to know why, like PCs are just for people who "haven't noticed" yet how awesome Macs are... but in the open market no one would try this kind of stuff. Left brained people just won't put up with this in the real world. Different upgrade paths, with no labeling on the box? I am an IT person for a printing company, and as such I spent hours upon hours preparing for this transition. When I called Adobe support, they said "yeah, that's a common problem--no one can tell the difference, and most vendors don't know it exists. We could help you, but you didn't buy it from us." Now I have to go back to the entire design department and say that because of Adobe's malicious tricks, they have to stay on CS2 for another few weeks. I have to go back to my boss and say that unless we can reauthorize money by tomorrow, the new version will cost another $100/copy; and there's no way she's going to believe it wasn't my fault. But I did exactly what everyone on here said they did, went onto adobe.com to do our research, saw that the upgrade works from CS2-CS4, and bought it, not knowing they did a bait and switch somewhere along the line. I'm not planning on complaining or blaming, just on being honest while covering my butt, and between my department, the design department, and my entire upline Adobe's going to lose a lot of cred in the process.
