Upgrade Install on New Machine Fail

Hello.

Last night I purchased the Mac CS4 Design Standard package from the Adobe online store (download option). I purchased on an upgrade path from CS3 Design Standard. CS3 is installed on an old machine which is being retired, and I wanted to install the CS4 upgrade on a new machine (iMac 24" 2.8 GHz Intel Core Duo w/ 2Gb 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM). I can install the upgrade no problems, but when it comes to activating the upgrade the part where it says you can install the new software without the old software being present, by entering the old serial number I get an error saying the serial number you have entered does not match the product you have selected and I can go no further.

It is possible I have copied down the wrong serial, but unlikely (I am setting up the new machine off-site over the weekend, so I cant double-check), but is there any other explanation for this that anyone can suggest?

I have tried several times, using the number keypad, and the number key row along the top of the keyboard, copy and paste, all to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
