Hi Neil,
Thanks for all of the input.
As of July, I had current drivers for both my scanner and printer, I can check to see if there are new ones since then. I always scan using the scanners hardware and do not use Twain.
Regarding PPI, my printers and etchers both ask for it, I also almost always insist on it. My murals are almost always first floor and often in intimate interiors or seating areas, lobbies and suites where people have very close contact to them. My artwork is also very tight and clean and I hate any "pixelation" or fuzziness in the final print. I have occasional printed 150-250PPI but anything less looks like garbage; cheap and poor quality.
I will definitely try to upgrade my ram and look into a separate drive for my scratch disk space. Is that as simple as hooking up an external drive to my laptop or do I need to adjust settings on my computer to allocate it as extra scratch disk space?
I will try FontAgent Pro, I have never used a font manager before.
I have not purchased or run disk warrior yet, as nothing has indicated that there is anything wrong with my computer. I have repaired permissions several times and reset photoshop preferences several times and it does not help.
