Yes! I ran the GoLive update (8.0.1) and now my big site opens reasonably quickly - 17,000 files + takes about three minutes to open. I still get the spod or watch when performing mundane tasks like hitting return in text, scrolling the site pane etc. But at least I can actually get some work done now. Thanks for alerting me to the update, Buko.
