I hope you haven't upgraded to Version Cue 2 yet because my advice would
be don't bother. I'm not sure how bad Version Cue 1 was but if 2 is
any indication, I'm surprised people's computers haven't imploded.
I would agree that for most people it's greatest value is in a small workgroup when sharing files, and less so for those working alone. Especially those with an organized work style who can always remember the versions and locations they've created. Unfortunately, not everyone is as organized as you.
Don't be so quick to put Version Cue down. Version Cue 2 is miles ahead of Version Cue 1. There are lots of fine points to be learned in working with a new workflow, and it certainly won't work for all people, but it will definitely help some people and workgroups become more productive.
Again, the Version Cue section is a much better place for this discussion. For example, Bob Schaffel, the product manager, has responded to the specific questions raised in that location.
