If I thought I received something as the tech told me, I had no reason
to go looking for directions on how to access the upgrade.
Then your only recourse is through the miss-informed tech and she is the one responsible for the upgrade and should be the one to shoulder the cost. Maybe next time she will learn to pay better attention to the rules of upgrading and and actually find out how the upgrade process works.
after she pays for the upgrade you can fire her, I realize its a harsh lesson but thats how things go. next time she will pay better attention to her job.
