Buko> After reading other peoples posts down the line on similar issues, I see what you mean about the non-incompatability. I installed tiger from a system disk bought from my university. I was originally running os 10.3.8. I installed the software by backing up all of my info, doing a disk-utilities check from a seperate starup disk, and then rebooting and installing an upgrade to my system. after then, I went into software update and updated from 10.4.0 to 10.4.2.

Steve> ya' know, that would make sense; when I get the error message, its always on the 'loading font libraries' section. I'll go through your list and see what I can't find out. I'll keep you updated on if the issue is solved or not. :)
