Hi Nic,

I suspect it is lack of Read & Write permissions to the Library/Application Support/Adobe folder that is causing these problems.

Lacking Read & Write permissions to the Adobe folder will cause Illustrator to generate "Error in. Line 1: I/O error."

Lacking Read & Write permissions to the SING folder that is inside the Adobe folder will cause InDesign to stall while "Initializing the SING gaiji system" when starting.

Lacking Read & Wriite permissions to the StartupScripts and Launch folders that are inside the Adobe folder will prevent Help from starting.

Other Adobe applications may require access to other Adobe folder contents.
