Hello there. How do you install CS3 (from a disc) onto the new MacBook Pro? I can't find an installer that works. Can I just drag the application file to the Applications folder? I'm used to OS 10.41 on my desktop mac. I'm pretty alarmed I can't get the installation to work, I'd just assumed it would work as easily and straightforwardly as usual. I'm frightened of being forced into purchasing the upgrade to CS4 which costs over 500 I haven't got, and I'm perfectly happy with CS3, I don't need an upgrade. Sorrowfully. Many thanks for your help. Gill

PS... I've just tried the install again, after copying the application to the Apps folder. The installer starts up, then jams with an erroro message "Javascript alert - critical errors were found in set up - undefined - The insataller database is invalid - please reinstall the product from the opriginal media (I did!) Please see the set up log file for details." O blimey, I'm really depressed. My money's spent on my new laptop. Please don't tell me I've got to spend another 500 on an upgrade o something. I'd feel proper bullied in to that! I don't need an upgrade! Panicky / bothered / upset / depressed etc :-( Still hopefully someone can help? Many thanks.

You'll need to run the installer from your original CDs. You cannot just drag applications onto your hard drive. When happens when you run the original installer disc?

I've spent the whole day trying to do everything to get CS3 installed on my new MacBook Pro and at each step things failed to do what it says on the tin. I've admitted defeat and purchased the CS4 Upgrade which is what I suspect the Adobe Sales Director intended. It's a duff way to kick off with my new laptop. I managed to feel thrilled and excited for all of 10 minutes, before I needed to install my first Adobe software programme. :-(
