HI,
I'm on an intel iMac - Can I delete my CS3 Creative Suite after installing the CS4 upgrade?

My apologies if this has been asked before, but I did search the forum and I searched Adobe Support fairly thoroughly before asking this question.

I could have missed it I know, but if I am right, this question really should be in the FAQ.

Many Thanks,

Frank B.

Frank,

This has been discussed in various product forums. The short answer is twofold: you can leave CS3 -- it'll still work, but, clicking on a file will launch the newer software version unless the earlier version was previously launched (either directly or by touching a file icon to the CS3 application icon).

But, yes, you can delete CS3, with the uninstaller utility. Be aware that some features in CS4 may have changed since CS3; and some CS3 features may now be gone. Also, if you decide to reinstall CS3, you will first have to uninstall CS4 (and reinstall it after CS3 is up again).

If you are going to delete CS3, at least wait until you are comfortable with using CS4. Otherwise you are going to want to get something done and you can't because Adobe has changed how you do it in the new version.

In other words don't be so quick to uninstall CS3
