Cannot Update any CS3 programs on Leopard??

I recently upgraded to leopard 10.5.6 and i reinstalled CS3 with no problems but i can't update them without the installer freezing. I sometimes even need to force the computer to shut down. Has anyone else come across this problem. it's incredibly annoying! Not sure if it's with my new iMac, Leopard or Adobe but would love an answer. Thanks!

Peter, Did you properly uninstall CS3 first, or just drag it to the trash? Did you do any system maintenance? Did you try to install as a new user? Neil

best way to install Your CS3 apps is to install them in Tiger update them then do an Archive and install to Leopard.

Hi there guys, thanks for coming back there. Neil: i uninstalled CS3 using the clean script that adobe provided but i don't think there was any major point in doing this as the whole system was new and fresh to begin with. Buko: i know what you mean but GOD that's a whole lot of work and something i have no time for at the moment. any other suggestions guys? Thanks again, Peter

forgot to say but i also tried updating in safe mode and also in a clean new user account.

well the best way would have been to do an Archive and install of your existing system with the original install of CS3 intact. But you didn't come in and ask before doing a clean install of Leopard.

Help! Hello there. I did a search and found this thread on my problem, but haven't figured out a solution. My problem is I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 (I purchased the discs rather than downloaded) which have served me fine on my desktop mac running OS 10.4.11. I've just bought a MacBook Pro laptop running the latest Leopard OS and I simply can't install from my CS3 discs. My first attempt began to install, I think, then the mac forced a quit mid-installation. Now whichever discs I drop in (application or content) no installers start up. I was wondering if I could try downloading CS3 from the net, and then enter my serial numbers from the new download. I don't want to upgrade to CS4, CS3 is plenty to be going on with. Help, help, what should I do? Thanks... Devon

hey there, what i would do is go to adobe.com and look for CS3 clean script. this is a little script you download and when you run it, it completely removes whatever bits of CS3 are installed on the system. This might help things as some of the programs might be half installed and thus the installer thinks they are fully installed. No to get over the installation problem, have you got another Mac running Tiger? what you could do is do a firewire disk target mode. all you do is connect both macs using a firewire and restart the one you want to mount holding down the 'T' button. You should be able to install then. Let me know how you get on, providing you have another MAC.

Thanks for your help Peter, it's great. I've downloaded the CS3 Clean Script, and have been checking out the 'read me', which is telling me I've already done everything wrong on my new Mac! After the stalled installation there were some Adobe files which I just dragged to the trash as usual. But the CS3 Clean Script read me says I should use the Adobe installer/uninstaller in the Utilities folder to uninstall Adobe stuff. Only when I saw these files earlier I dragged them to the trash too, thinking they'd come in with the unsuccessful install and wanting to start from a clean slate. So I've lost the Adobe Installers! What shall I do? Woefully,thanks, oh it's difficult not to panic.... Devon PS My desktop mac has OS 10.4.11. Is that Tiger?

hi there, You say you lost the adobe installers... but do you not have the original installation disks? 10.4.11 is last updated version of Tiger before Leopard was unleashed.
