Will older fonts work on a new Leopard with CS4?

I am looking into buying a new MAC and CS4 to replace my power mac 9500. Does anyone know if I will be able to use my old fonts? If so, which font handling program would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Palatino also comes to mind.

Palatino should work fine, but Eras and Optima are two pre-1992 fonts that were subsequently reissued. The old versions don't work.

AFAIK, Palatino should be fine. Only Eras and Optima were originally uniquely encoded to allow their subtle contours to properly image at both high-res output, and by simplifying their shapes, for best (albeit compromised) appearance from the typical 300 dpi laser printers typical of the time. (Eras 3 tilt and Optima's subtle curves did not output well at lower resolutions.) The fonts were later changed by Adobe for one level of output (high-res), just like the other Type 1 fonts. Unless you bought these fonts in the early 1990s or before, you should not have a problem. Neil
