Hey there, I've got 4 macs all running CS3 & am having trouble getting the 'Today SB' font to appear the same on all 4. The problem I'm getting is that on 2 of the macs when you view the font list in InDesign or Photoshop it has the Today family in the main drop down then the individual versions (light, medium, regular) as a sub menu off the main list. The other 2 macs have all the individual versions in the main list. Doesn't sounds like a big problem but the issue is when a file is being worked on by more than one designer they get missing font messages when they open the file. I was originally sharing the font through Suitcase Server & thought that might be causing the problem so I deleted it off the server, used Font Doctor to clean up all cached fonts & deleted any other versions of that font on all macs & the server & just installed it directly onto each mac. Still the same problem, so it can't be anything to do with the font software. Has anyone had a similar problem or got any suggestions? Cheers.

There are many places for the fonts to live. Check the Users/yourname/Library/Fonts Library/Fonts System/Library/Fonts Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts for extra copies of the fonts. Mike

Hi Mike, Yes I checked all those places. I ran a search across the hard drive for the font & deleted all instances of it. Still no luck.

The next step is remove the font caches. I know you used the Font Doctor, but I'd recommend using something like Onyx or Applejack which will clear out all caches. Mike

Yep I ran Onyx as well - cleared all the caches, installed the latest CS3 updates & basically got all machines running exactly the same, but it still references the font differently. There's not a CS3 setting somewhere that controls how fonts are displayed/interpreted is there? I'm also beginning to wonder if the font itself is corrupt. I'm reluctant to purchase it again though as it's not cheap.

You should not have to repurchase the font if you have the original disk or original download stored safely away. Mike
