I have tried endless combinations of install/uninstall of CS4 on my Intel Mac Pro (10.4.11). All seems to install ok but when I open a file in Photoshop or Illustrator, I get the following error "FATAL ERROR (library/app support/adobe/adobe version QueCS4 client/4.0.0/VersionCue.Framework)" followed by the application closing. I have repaired permissions and trashed the VC prefs to no avail. My latest attempt was to uninstall everything, install just Photoshop (same problem) followed by install of VC. The installer starts (preparing to install) then does nothing. How do I fix this issue? Thankyou.

Hi Tom, do you have FileVault on? Did you have had any pre-realease CS4 software installed before? This sounds like you should clean any installation of any Adobe CS4 app (and if you still have CS3 too, you should erase that too.) as deep as possible, including all old prefs. It seems like the installer database thinks you have the correct installation in place and so will not update or replace it. Maybe a database error, but assume it depends on old existing installation. So the system is not clean enough to have the correct installation done. Die you had a look into "library/app support/adobe/adobe version QueCS4 client/4.0.0/" if the "VersionCue.Framework" is there and if i contains other folders and files? This problem does not really has to do with VC itself. This is an installer problem. Please try to have a look at the directory and see if the folders that PS and AI look for is there. if not, it is definitely an installer error. Markus
