Change the default location of local project files from "My Documents" to something else.

My company has the "My Documents" directory of all their users over a Network. My problem is that the default location for local project files are defaulted to "My Documents". Is there any way to change this behavior? I know you can change it per project in the "edit preferences" settings, but it's a pain to have to do it for each project that you're working on or have created.

I'd love to know the answer to this as well!! Fed up with creating projects and forgetting to change it's location to a shared drive that is backed up on an overnight job!

Likewise. I'm on Macs, but the problem is identical. I don't see why this couldn't be added as a User-wide preference very easily, but we've gone three versions without the change so i wouldn't count on it.
