UNinstall entirely

I have no reason to use Version Cue (probably shouldn't have installed it, didn't know originally). Is there a way to uninstall it totally? From all versions?

I did a search and didn't find a thing.

Thanks!

Hi Kitty,
just go to "Add and Remove" (XP) or "Programs and features" (Vista) select the Creative Suite you use and after the uninstall screen comes up, deselect all except Version Cue.
The client to connect servers is not meant to be un-installed, it has dependencies to some applications.
In PS and FL you can disable Version Cue in the preferences, All apps will just ignore VC as long as you are not connected to a server and work with managed files.

What do you mean with "From all versions?". I don't get that.. sorry.

If you have a more specific question about this, I will answer as fast as can.
BTW: Version Cue server is about 177 MB and swill do nothing on your machine as long as you do not start it. Is it worth the effort? Space is cheap - time is not. ;-).

Don't trust those blaming Version Cue for all problems on their machines. That is cheap and not true.

Have a nice day.
Markus

Thanks Marcus - you're right. It's not bothering anything really, I certainly have the space... I'd hate to disrupt anything if nothing is "broken".

I meant from CS2 & CS3 (versions).

Thanks for replying and making a good suggestion. I just turned it off rather than uninstall it.

Cheers!

Hi Kitty,
then you can speed up Bridge CS3 a little if you go to Bridge's preferences > startup scripts and disable both VersionCue scripts.
On restart of Bridge, VC is disabled and the last "connection" to Version Cue is abandoned.

Happy working

Markus
