We've been running a Version Cue CS2 (2.0.1) server, and recently purchased CS4. Now how do I upgrade the projects that are in Version Cue CS2? I see there's an "Import Version Cue CS3 Data" task, but it either doesn't work to import from CS2, or it's plain broken. I've installed the 4.0.1 update as suggested in <http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb407099> and copied the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Server\cs3-migration-plugin\com.adobe.versioncue.migration_3.1.2 folder to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS2\plugins , restarted the CS2 server. But when I try to run the import, I get the same "Your Version Cue CS3 server is running, but the required plugin is not installed." that everyone seems to get. I can't seem to restore any backups from CS2 onto CS4 either--the server backup file doesn't show up in the list at all, and project backup files show up, but give a very generic error: "Could not restore project 'projectname' from backup '12285243030801.vcbf'." I did find the following in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Server\logs\VersionCue.log: [JobExecutor[longRunning]-1] ERROR com.adobe.versioncue.controller.backup - Unsupported project backup version: 2.0 Why does upgrading Version Cue seem excessively painful :(

Hi Dave, CS2 Server data cannot be migrated via the migration plugin to CS4. CS2 is not compatible with the CS4 migration Plugin. Possible solutions: - Export all projects to seperate folders, then import the folders into CS4 Server as new Projetcs. (Cons: Version History will be reduced to the latest Version) - Install the CS3 Suite Trial and migrate CS2 to CS3, and CS3 then to CS4. (Cons: takes much time and installation effort; Pros: Version history will be preserved)0 Let me know which way you went, or which solution you maybe found by yourself. Best Arne
