Version Cue CS3 Project Migration to CS4

I have installed Design Premium CS4 on my XP SP3 machine without a problem.

I have now decided that where as I use to run version cue on a server, I would be better off running it on my local machine as I am the only person using it.

I now have VC CS4 running locally and VC CS3 running on a networked server with around 30 projects on it.

I now need to migrate the synced and checked in VC CS3 projects over to the VC CS4 server

I have copied the export plug in from VC CS4 over to VC CS3.

When I open up the administration page of the VC CS4 server and go to Advanced > Import Version Cue CS3 Data I get the following:

Welcome to the Version Cue CS3 Migration

Migration requires logging in as a Version Cue CS3 administrator on this page. You will then be presented with a list of projects and may start the migration process.

Your Version Cue CS3 server could not be contacted, please make sure it is running."

The VC CS3 server is definately running but can't be seen by the VC CS4 server in order to import the projects.

Has anyone got any pointers as to what might be causing this.

Many thanks

Stu

Hi Stu,
In order to migrate the projects CS3 and CS4 server need to be on the same machine.
I understand your scenario as if this is not possible.

You could run project backups for each project and import them into CS4 Server.

Hope that I could help you.
