Re-installed CS - Now how do I bring in my old VC projects?

My C:\ failed and I had to re-install everything. I have Creative Suite loaded up, but Bridge doesn't show my projects. The "Version Cue" folder lives on my D:\ drive. How do I point Bridge/Version Cue to this folder and import all my projects? I'm working on Windows Vista Business and Creative Suite 2

See this thread. It is specifically about recovering a CS3 Vc database (you state CS2), but perhaps the steps I described will be of assistance. (See Sergei near the bottom of the thread.) <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b705c5/0>

Thanks for the reply, Sergei. Reading the post, it seems to only work by bringing in the old 'backup' data. I do not have a recent backup executed by Vc (the backups I have are manual copies of my 'Version Cue' folder). -this is the folder I need to force Vc to 'see'. Do you know of any other way to do this if there is no data in the Vc 'backups' folder? Thanks!

I don't know if the following will achieve your objective, but it should work.
1) Stop Version Cue
2) Using Windows Explorer, or equivalent, move your old Vc data directory from your D: drive to some other location, that location CAN be on D:, but cannot be where Vc expects to see it. (DO NOT use Vc Preferences => Locations to move the Data directory.)
3) Now, using Vc Preferences => Locations tab (accessed via Windows Control Panel, or right+click Vc icon and select Preferences)... Choose the former D: drive data folder location. That folder should no longer exist because you moved it in step 2. Select it anyway.
4) Restart Vc.
5) Stop Vc.
6) Move your former data, saved in step 2, into the data directory chosen in step 3.
7) Restart Vc.
Are your projects and everything else restored?
If not, be aware that the Vc Preferences => Locations => Data is actually a "mirror" of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS3\Server\data. It is possible to restore the .\Server\data folder from a Windows backup to recover your Vc projects. I've done it, but I failed to specifically note the steps I took. ("Since I should never have to do that again," I guess.)
