To make Copy & Paste compatible with illustrator 10 or Cs having Dimensions (I have 3.0 version), you have to setup Illustrator file handling and clipboard this way.

1# Open Preferences dialog box in Illustrator.
2# Chose Clipboard and Handling tab
3# Check AICB (No transparency support), box.

After fallowing this steps you can now copy and paste between Illustrator 10 or CS and Dimensions.
