Hi there, I am using ADS to merge several PDFs files, and some of them are filled using fdfs. Everything is done on the server memory (IIS) but the final pdf file result. It works really fine. Now I am trying not to write this final file, and using Response.BinaryWrite(responsePDF.getData().Item(1).getData()); to export the result directly to the web page without writing the file to the disk. Of course it does not work. if i download the source result and create a pdf file with it, the acrobat can open it but with corrupted data. Both files are pretty similar (viewing them with notepad) The process is the same. The only differences are: (Writing file) var commands = '<commands resultOverwrite="true" resultLocation="file:///c:/tempFiles/" >' ... <saveContent name="test" appendExtension="true" />' instead of (NOT writing files) var commands = '<commands>'; Have anyone already had a similar problem? thanks so much

I vaguely remember something similar being discussed back a while ago on this forum but I can't find the posts. It seems like it was something similar to: - binaryWrite having trouble with text in a stream - or one of byteStreams, byteArrays, buffers, etc. having trouble with UTF-8 encoded text unless some special steps or methods were used. - or the Browser needing the mime type: Response.ContentType Something along the first group would seem to fit your scenario where the PDF is mostly valid except for the form text.

Solved!! Thanks for the answer Bob. I had already set the contentType to application/pdf. The problem was one of the instructions of the <commands>. i was using <saveContent> instead of <saveOptimized>. This one has been designed specifically for the web. have a great day

Bob, I would like to save files from Photoshop elements in the PDF format and then merge them into one PDF file. Can you tell me how to do it?

Adobe Graphics Server can't combine PDFs but Adobe Document Server can. - ADS has an assemblePDF command that can assemble PDFs into a book - ADS has an overlayPages command that can superimpose PDFs. (Mostly targeted at headers, footers, logos--but it can be used for other things.)
