Hi. After installing GeForce 182.08 drivers on my GeForce 7950 GX2 card, Adobe Encore 2.0 (WinXP SP3) play video in the Movie window jerky. This did not occur with GeForce drivers 178.24. Is this a settings issue? If yes, where do I have to turn in order get this fixed? Thanks,

I would think the answer to your question to be rather obvious - roll back your display drivers.

Hi. Thanks for your answer. Your "solution" would be a more a work around, no real solution as such. However I consider it as a last resort. I'm sure there's something with the settings which is badly configured. I posted my question here since I thought that there might be some user who had the same problem. Thanks,

Encore doesn't offer much in the way of settings for tweaking video playback. There is a simple setting in the preferences you could try changing (set playback to "compatible", I believe?) Otherwise, the "real" solution would be to find out why the new drivers caused a problem with Encore video playback, and perhaps GeForce can fix it in their next driver update. In other words, report it to GeForce as a problem that they need to fix, since their update seems to have broken it.

Going to do that. Thanks. With "problem with settings", I meant the settings for the GeForce drivers, not Encore settings. Regards,

With a previous computer, using Premiere 6, I had an nVidia card All other programs didn't care, but P6 would only work properly with ONE specific driver version Any earlier or later and P6 didn't work properly Find and use a video driver that works... newer isn't always better, when it comes to video editing

Ah, I see. Of course, you'll probably also want to check any GeForce forums or technotes for any information that may relate to this.

I noticed (trial and error) that until 178.24, all drivers fail to play movies inside the monitor window of Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 properly. 178.24 is the first version which works while downgrading step by step.

NVidia are a nightmare lately, no doubt about it. I'll never buy another of their products. NVidia support is the only option open with problems like this, sadly.

Lately, there seem to be a lot of nVidia driver issues with many Adobe products. I find this particularly sad, as Adobe and nVidia have partnered in the CUDA arena for Adobe products. Encore is not the only application suffering nVidia driver problems, by a long shot. Just glad (knocking on my wooden head, while I type) that my Quadro FX-4500 is working fine with everything Adobe. However, unless I encounter a problem, I will NOT be trying new drivers. This one works, so it says. Hunt

I never thought that the nVIDIA drivers could be the source of this problem. Thanks for the info!
