Jerry, The problem does not exist on my Mac running OS 10.3.4. It manifests itself in the Windows box I use at work, though, and the IT people tell me they don't use Norton's fire wall, although they do have all kinds of maximum security hardware and software fire walls in place because of the nature of the system. If your observation is correct, and I have no reason to doubt it, then a different fire wall may not be a solution. You can switch over to the Mac, though, if the "problem" bothers you that much. :)
