What people feel about how other people feel hardly seems relevant. Either Gail will return to speak for herself, or we might as well move on to other topics. FWIW, I took Gail's message number 5 entirely at its face value: "Thank you." This is a traditional way of thanking other people for their help. "I'm out of here." Now I know where I should go, that's where I'm off to. Reading emotional overtones into cold print is a very tenuous thing to do. Only the writer knows what was really intended, and as we all know, it is all too easy to lose sight of the fact that unemotional cold-print doesn't capture the nuances of the intended communication. For example, what mood am I in as I write this? Am I deadly serious or is my tongue in my cheek? Who can tell? Do I even know? Dave
