John, I noticed that change only in MS IE Explorer in Windows XP Pro on the Windows machine at work, nothing has changed on the Mac side. The change happened exactly at the same time the red "Search for more results" was added to the search results page, replacing the confusing plain "Search" button. What appears to be happening is that, in MS IE Explorer in Windows XP Pro, hitting the Back button is forcing the main forum page to refresh. The blue font doesn't change then, but the red flag for New messages has disappeared. It's easy to tell which threads remain unread, even if you don't see read topics in brown. Personally, I like the way it's working now better. Curiously, the refresh is not happening in MS IE for Mac. Here, the thread does turn brown when you hit the back button and the read flag remains.
