I'm wondering if it wouln't be useful for everyone out there to have an faq: itmes like: my nefs open in the (camera manufacturer) program and not in ACR.
Can I open scanner NEF images...
List of supported cameras, with links to the latest ACR version.
Frequency of updates to ACR, with date of last update posted.

I'd rather leave someone with actual experience of ACR do it... but I can gather the recurring questions (and answers), and write some entries.

Ian was pondering whether or not he would place one in there, I think that he will ask Thomas about it.

Ok, on occassion we give people edit rights in the FAQ areas to be able to help hosts with them. If Ian is considering it, you might contact him if you might be interested in helping out. Thanks.

Here is a draft FAQ:
If mr Knoll could review it before it goes online, I'll be able to sleep on both ears...
-----------

Q: I cannot see all the tools and buttons of Adobe Camera Raw
A: Set your resolution to the minimum recommended for PhotoshopCS, 1024x768

Q: I cannot open my nef files with Adobe Camera Raw
A: Nikon software automatically installs their raw conversion tool in adobe plug-in folders. Delete from Photoshop's plug-in folder and all subfolders all copies of the "Nikon NEF plugin". Nikon installs this plug-in in up to two places inside Photoshop's plug-in folder, and both most be deleted. Otherwise it overrides the Adobe plug-in.
an alternative to the deletion is adding ~ in front of the plug-ins names.

Q: Is my camera supported by Adobe Camera Raw?
A: Here <http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html> is the list of cameras officially supported by the current version of Adobe Camera Raw

Q: where can I download the latest version of Camera Raw?
A: Adobe camera raw for: Windows <http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Windows> and Macintosh <http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Macintosh>

Q: when will the new update of Camera Raw be released?
A: We cannot comment on unannounced products, however, ACR updates will be released about 4 times a year.

Q: I have photoshop7, with Camera Raw 1, will there be an update for the new cameras?
A: No, only Camera Raw 2, compatible with Photoshop CS, will receive updates.

Q: Is is better to upsize my images in Camer Raw, or in Photoshop
A: the algorythm is really close to the bicubic sharper of Photoshop CS, the difference will be minimal.
