Well...i am using ASP.NET to submit a form. It saves the FDF on the server. Everything works fine uptil now. My next step is to update my PDF lying on the server with the FDF i.e. to import the FDF into PDF. Now i use AformAUtLib methods and functions to do that. Here is my code:
Dim acroapp As Acrobat.CAcroApp
Dim formApp As AFORMAUTLib.AFormApp
Dim acroForm As AFORMAUTLib.Fields
acroapp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
Dim pdf1 As Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc
Dim pdd As Acrobat.CAcroAVDoc
pdd = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
pdf1 = CreateObject("Acroexch.Pddoc")
pdd.Open("\\computername\pdftest\file.pdf", "")
pdd = acroapp.GetActiveDoc
formApp = CreateObject("AFormAut.App")
acroForm = formApp.Fields
acroForm.ImportAnFDF("\\klxvh1l\pdftest\appendupdate.fdf")
pdf1 = pdd.GetPDDoc
pdf1.Save(&H5, "\\computername\pdftest\filenew.pdf")
pdf1.Close()
pdd.Close(0)
acroapp.Exit()
formApp = Nothing
pdf1 = Nothing
pdd = Nothing
acroapp = Nothing
FdfAcX = Nothing
FDFin = Nothing
But the code does not seem to work when i use it from a remote computer. If i try using it on my local machine it does save the new PDF file with imported data, but when i try that from a remote machine it does not. It sits on looking for something. Does not display any errors too. I initially thought of it as a permission issue, so granted ASPNET account all the SYSTEM privileges on the sever. Still it does not seem to work. Any help is greatly appreciated. One thing that i know is that the problem lies with instantiating AVDOC on the server when using it from a remote machine.

Basit, there are several places you could try.. Adobe Acrobat Macintosh forum: <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ee6b2ed> Adobe Acrobat Windows forum: <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ee6b2f2> For your question I would recommend the new Acrobat Scripting forum: <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.3bb55d70> Also try the Planet PDF forum and the Developer's forum: <http://forum.planetpdf.com/webboard/wbpx.dll/~planetpdfforum>
