Master Page Maps and Tables

Hi,

I'm still using FM7.2, I have FM8, but until we make the move, I can't use it for production. I think this problem is found in FM8 anyway.

I have defined 2 horizontal master pages, 'horizL', and 'horizR' (one for 'left', the other for 'right' pages)

What I've done is defined a table structure that includes an attribute called 'orientation' that can be set to 'vertical' or 'horizontal'.

In the Structured Master Page Maps, I added a line that defines the Element Tag Name (E:myTable in this case), then name of the Right and Left Page Names (horizR and horizL) the Attribute Name (orientation) and the Attribute Value (horizontal) and I've tried every combination of the Range Indicator, I've stuck on 'Until Changed'.

The problem is when the tables spans pages. If another element on the page re-sets the master page to a vertical orientation, then the part of the horizontal table that spilled onto this page, runs off the side of the page.

Is there a better way to do this type of vertical/horizontal layout for tables?

Thanks,

- m
