Hello.

Everything was going fine, until we tried doing a global FIND/CHANGE on elements and attributes within the FM 7.1 tool.

I initially set up the DTD elements-attributes to set my code text as "RED." That helped to keep track of the content generation as I was putting in the information.

Then, ... when I was finished, I tried to do a FIND/CHANGE on the same (element name, attribute, and attribute value) to change the "RED" colour to "BLACK." With all the form fields filled in on the FIND/CHANGE routine, FM 7.1 could not find the elements.

I got rid of the attribute and attribute values in the FIND/CHANGE fields, and searched only on the element name. FM 7.1 will find them all, ... BUT I have to manually alter the attribute information for each one. With over 300 elements of that type, this is NOT a good idea.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

As a hint, I had to go into the DTD, change the default of the attribute value to "BLACK" and reapply the DTD to the document. That worked, but that's not a good idea either, as I do not want my content developers going into the DTD. (Do I have to rewrite my DTD in some way to account for this capability?)
