Hi, Scott - thanks for the tips; I'll take a close look at the set-up and what's actually in the FrameMaker/Structure folder. In the meantime, though I can't remember what prompted me to try it, I simply copied all my dita and related .fm files to my c:\ drive where all the program files live. Bingo! problem gone. FM has never complained about files on a networked drive before; something to do with the Open Tool Kit? Niels [ps] went back to the weinstube for the black pudding - delicious!
