I think that the "chunk" attribute may do what you need .. although that may also affect how the HTML topics are generated. Chunking is a DITA 1.1 feature, so you'll need to replace the "dtd" folder in your DITA app with the dtd folder from DITA 1.1 .. you'll also need to update your Map EDD to support the chunk attribute. Although FM does not officially support DITA 1.1, you can implement pieces of it without any problem.

It can be implemented in many ways, and seems to not really be fully supported in the OT .. some uses of the chunk attribute will work as expected, while others may not. And to make it more complicated, it's hard to understand and it may not be working right because you're not using it properly. :)

You're probably better off writing to the dita-users Yahoo group for help with this, since it's really an OT issue not a Frame issue.
