Hi, I have one framemaker file called card.fm, this file have a lot of references in another file references1.fm. I would like to change all the references with those in references2.fm. The references2.fm is a modified copy of references1.fm How can I do this? Or how can I change all references in a time? Thank you.

macweaz, Move references1.fm to another place, say in a folder. Rename references2.fm to references1.fm. Create a new book file and add card.fm and references1.fm to the book file. Save the book file and, as a check, update the book file's cross-references. Because the references from card to reference1 are already in place, this should work without problems. If there are unresolved cross-references, resolve them. Now, in the book file window, click once on the file NAME reference1. Wait a second or two, and the name of the file is highlighted for you to edit. Change the 1 to a 2, and click on the card file name. Frame will tell you that it is going to change the references from card to reference1 to reference2. Click OK, or whatever. Now the references are all updated from card to reference2.fm. You can delete the book file if you want. This is the only way I know to do this kind of re-referencing. Van

Thank you, It works this way, but now I have a problem with cross- references, I would like to reference an element with its childs, now it works only if I put a text range formatting, instead I have to put a 'newline' after every element.
