I have a simple app, a valid edd, a valid dtd, a correct template and so on. All works correctly but a I have this error after the insertion of a Table. Wherever I move the mouse FM says: "Couldn't find tag:TCell" or "TGroup" or "TRow". The structure of the Table is the same of the Book Template in FM.
What now?
Thank you.

Whenever I've had this problem, I've been able to use the Structure View tool to resolve it.

Select the table, then press in sequence ESC EV to open Structure View. If necessary, expand the selected element to view the table rows and so on.

In many cases, the Structure View tool highlights the misplaced table components in red. That makes it easy to drag-and-drop the highlighted elements to their proper place...

Cheers & hope this helps,
Riley

Thank you Riley, the problem is that in 'Structure View' I see the correct elements in the correct places. All seems perfect and no highlighted, but when I select any of the elements I have the same advise.

Luca,

Does the book validate (Element > Validate)?

Were these documents converted from unstructured document? Sometimes the conversion process leaves some chaff behind.

I have encountered tables, created or converted from unstructured by others, that have rows without cells. The Row elements show in the structure, but not in the document and I cannot delete them. But I have never got the message you are talking about. In my case, the only way around the problem is to create a new structured table and copy the good rows from the bad table to the new table, one row at a time, to keep from getting those bad rows.

Sometimes Structure View won't highlight misplaced table elements.

Use ESC vd to validate the document to see if you can localize the problem.

When I've had similar problems with tables, it's because I managed to paste a table row outside the structure boundaries of a particular table. Careful inspection in Structured View usually enables me to find a row or cell or some such that's found its way outside of the table's structure boundaries...

Cheers & hope this helps,
Riley

Luca.

I've used structured Frame quite heavily for some time but I've never seen this error. It does sound like a corrupted file, but I'm having a hard time understanding how that could happen with an XML import, unless the XML is really messed up. If you were willing to send some files, I'd be happy to look at them, as long as they are not FM9.

Thank you for precious suggestions.
This morning I've launched FM9 and I've opened my doc and.. no error is presented, I've tried to insert a new table and is gone ok. I dont' know what is happened, a bug in fm9? a problem with EDD, DTD, transformations?
Now all seems work correctly. I will send a message here if the error will came back.
A big thank you all.
