building blocks for numbering

Hello everyone,
I have a multilevel numbering series where the value in the <n> bulding blok stops at 9 for somthing like 1.9.10 and the next item is reset to 1.0.1. I asume that the incremental value stops at 9 when the value for the <n+> block that follows gets to 10.
Does anyone know how to set the <n> block to accept two digits?
Thanks in advance.

Roberto
