Check on each master page that it's exactly right. Sometimes there's a hidden frame or text container on the page that makes it different than the older pages, which generates the message. The easiest way to check this is to deconstruct the master by selecting and deleting containers until either a surprise reveals itself or there isn't much left. Then try to select all to see if anything hidden is still lurking. Assuming this comes up clean, to see if you can't force the new layout, try doing an import formats, and check the remove override checkbox. (The number of Master pages is the same in each document, isn't it?) If you still have a problem, try deconstructing a body page that uses the old format, to see if there's something on the body pages that is making a difference. Art
