Framemaker crashes when I change printers

In Framemaker 8.p277 I get a hard crash when I change printers
(not .pdf) from the print dialog. I have to restart Framemaker after
changing the Windows default printer. Fatal, no. Annoying, yes.  Is
this a known bug/feature? How do I fix this.
