Sean: There's no mechanism for putting FrameMaker variables into the autonumbering text entry area. You can, on the other hand, combine numbering such that it includes multiple counters. In the online help, look for "Using multiple counters in an autonumber format"... And the autonumbering text entry area can contain text, such as the word "Figure", et al...
