internal error while writing imported graphics

This is a problem which has occurred recently for no obvious reason, but it affects several different documents.

I have some FrameMaker files in which some screenshots are pasted directly into the file. This has worked fine so far, but recently I've received the following error message when I save the file: "An internal error occurred while writing imported graphics in this document, The file has been saved, but has lost some image data. Please report this error to Adobe Technical Support."

The file is saved with an extra 3-character Hex extension, but about a third of my pasted files are now missing, and either appear as a grey rectangle, or not at all. I can repaste the files, but this often means regenerating them, and can prove a but annoying.

Anyone know what's happening here ? More to the point, how do I solve the problem ?

Thanks

Philip, Berlin
