I am using FrameMaker 7 and 8 for Windows on XP SP2.

I have worked with FrameMaker since 1991 on Windows and Macintosh. In older versions, FrameMaker offered an option when creating a new catalog entry (style) to BASE IT ON an Existing Style. I am positive I used this feature in FrameMaker. It is also available in PageMaker, InDesign, QuarkXPress, etc.

I can no longer find this feature. Can someone please help me. Does it still exist? The idea behind this feature is to create a style that will automatically update itself to the new settings of the style it is based on.

For example, if a create a style (Paragraph Catalog entry) named "Bullet Level 1" and then create and BASE a style called "No Bullet Level 1" on the "Bullet Level 1" Catalog entry...... as I change the point size of "Bullet Level 1"... in kind, the "No Bullet Level 1" will also reflect the point size change.... since it is based on "Bullet Level 1"

I cannot believe that this feature was removed, but I can find nowhere in the documentation, forums, or Google to support that this feature still exists.
