Kris, Did you open only the book file, or the book file plus the other seven files / sections which the book contains? Is it possible you were only given one file? Is it a *.book or an *.fm file? See Arnis Grubins tip. When I started FrameMaker, I thought opening the book file was enough. I thought it was my display settings. I was wrong. Once you do your changes, when you make your backups, make sure you backup ALL the files. Good luck. Brian
