Hi I am using FrameMaker 6.0 in Windows 2000. I've been using a FM 5.5 template that I inherited (BkStyle7 mean anything to anyone?). I like the template, but I'm having trouble with the chapter numbers. I just use the number; I don't include the word "chapter" I have four chapters and 2 appendices. I add all files to the book and I set the numbering properties so that the 1st chapter is Chapter 1 and the rest continues from previous file in book. What happens is that the chapter number in the first chapter reads chapter 8 and the second chapter reads chapter 1. The page numbering works fine; I have no problems with that. I've had this problem for a long time, but I usually just insert the chapter number in the Numbering tab of the Paragraph Designer. I think the problem could be in the autonumber counters. The autonumber format is C:<n+>\st. I don't know which paragraph tag resets the counter for this format. How would I find this out? I think if I found this paragraph tag, I could solve my problem. More importantly how can I get my chapter numbers to be automatic and in order? thx
