I was having similar problems for a while. I then realized that I was
a member of the administrators group for the domain that I was
attached to, but I was not set up as administrator for the computer.
In fact, I didn't even have an account on the computer even though I
was logging in every day with the domain account. I added myself as a
member of the computer (local) login and gave myself admin rights and
everything has worked fine ever since.
