Just some thoughts... If you happen to have a backup copy of the problem file you might try going back to that & seeing what is different (as well as asking what might have been affected by the changes you made). I am also wondering if you have tried placing these problem graphics in one of the chapters that still prints OK? If it did not print OK, then it would seem to imply the problem was with the graphic; if it DID print OK, it would imply that the problem was with the chapter. Not really solutions, but might narrow the possibilities.
