Thx Frater,

I did try printing the graphic from another file and it worked fine.

I just copied everything from the problem chapter into a new document and imported the formats from one of the other chapters. The graphics still reference the same directory and they print ok now.

I've never had this happen in FrameMaker, but perhaps the file was corrupted in some way?

thx for all your responses. Nadine
