Graeme, moving an existing project from Word to Frame to simplify maintainence of bookmarks and hyperlinks during multiple upgrades and conversion to PDF, ... I started learning FrameMaker for the same reasons. I believe it works. Here are some suggestions / examples. Classroom in a Books * Invest in the Classroom in Books for FrameMaker 6.0 and Acrobat 5.0. * In CIB FM 6.0 - See Lesson 11 Books * In CIB Acro 5.0 - See Lesson 5 Putting Documents Online. The authoring application was FrameMaker. FrameMaker 6.0 Templates * In FrameMaker 6.0 (not SGML), I have some Adobe-supplied templates. Have you looked at the templates? File > New > Document > Book. Acrobat 5.0 * For a real-life example, open Acrobat. Help $gt; Acrobat Help. It's a PDF. * File > Document Properties > Summary. It's done in FrameMaker. The content and index are linked. I assume it was authored in FrameMaker as a book. Good luck.
