I've been reading these animated threads, re: bleak future of Frame, cold-hearted Adobe attitude towards dedicated yet disempowered users, lack of competition/alternatives to Frame, impending extinction of users (I'd like to think of myself more as a Tasmanian wolf type, actually).  

But here's an angle I haven't seen mentioned (and for sure, its not multiple undo). If I want to develop single-source content and get multiple types of outputs (and I do, I do!), I use Frame/WebWorks, AuthorIT, or maybe some complex, customized XML kinda solution, non? (BTW, for my own specific purposes, I see signifcant drawbacks with AuthorIT compared to Frame/WebWorks - but that's another story.) 

Anyway, I'm thinking that I really have no real alternative other than practicing my "Thank you sir, may I have another?" routine in order to be ready for whenever the latest "sad update" comes around.  

The question I put to you, fellow vanishing species: if  legit alternatives to Frame are slim to nada, is this not even more likely to be the case in regard to apps that offer robust single-sourcing capabilities?  

I don't know InDesign. Can it produce mif-like file types that WebWorks might one day be redesigned to use? And could I possibly be guilty of any more wretchedly desperate wishful thinking?
