Hi Framers, I have obtained lately an ordinary english PDF ver. 1.3 file generated by Frame Maker 6.0 / Distiler 4.05 for Win (at least that's what the "Document info" box tells me). 1) Using Acrobat 4 for Mac (under MacOS 9.1 US) I selected a few lines of unformated body text from the above mentioned PDF doc, copied it  and pasted into a new MS WORD for MAC 98 doc - well that's what I usually do and succeed... This time, however, after selecting the "Paste" command in my MS WORD I saw several lines of strange characters: '&' and '#' and 2 or 3 other chars in various combinations with the '_' char eg. "__#__&". The word "specialized" looked like this: "_�___	#_2_%_". 2) I tried the "Paste special" command with "unformatted text" option, but the result was even worse ie. only empty squares and PageBrake characters. 3) My 3rd attempt was on the Windows platform. I repeated all the steps from 1) and 2) and the result was the same! 

The whole thing is really strange to me. The PDF docs that I generate using the happy FM6/Dist4 for Mac duo allow normal editable text in MSWORD after the above described AcrobatCopy->WordPaste procedure. 

Would anyone offer a solution or at least an explanation? Is there a special PDF-tool for the proper text extraction like in my case?
