When Frame generates bookmarks, it looks at one element completely before it looks at the next. It generates bookmarks from one text flow before it looks at the second text flow. I think you'll need to stick to a single text flow to make the bookmarks work properly. Why does it matter if the text flow for chapter headings has room for sideheads? The "room for sideheads" matters only if you have paragraph tags that need that area. Any other tags can be set to extend across the sidehead. I suggest you find a way around the sidehead difficulty now that you have the bookmarks problem solved. Jeanie
