Multiple undos isn't important to me. One of my programs defaults to 20 levels of undo, and I usually can't remember past three. Plus, it pops a dialog box to remind me the undo level is at it's limit.
Everyone has their own level of comfort with features, but for me, I try to match task to tool. For single file content to paper, I use WordPerfect 9. For rows and columns, I use a spreadsheet, usually Quattro. Or, if the rows are long and I need paper out, I move to Paradox or Crystal Reports. For short HTML, I use Navigator Composer (better than Outlook and less external threats). For longer HTML, I have GoLive.
For multfile files going to paper and PDF with chapters, index and maybe multiple HTML pages, I use FrameMaker.
Mostly I create for myself, and format for the display medium. This ContentCreator vs. FormatterOfContent is dated. Personal computers and networks have made everyone ContentCreators, even the typists.
In conclusion, for multiple files and multiple outputs, FrameMaker is my choice. Big jobs setup for easy maintenance. Here multiple undos is not a priority, it may even be a risk.

I have two questions -
What other program includes the equivalent of FrameMaker's {body, master, reference} page sets? I think it's neat and tidy. Wish I understood the HTML parts better.
And these MIFs, they appear promising as we try to repurpose content. When are they used?
In these two respects, what do comparable applications offer? What are the comparable applications?
Guess that's four questions ....
Thanks.
