Table Rules

I have many tables to make in my document. Spec calls for first table heading line to be ruled and the following "continued" pages of the table headings open ruled (no top rule line) . My problem is when I set the Heading to continue from the first table (which is ruled) of course it continues on the other pages using a variable to automatically continue. So how do I get the following pages to be unruled without having to put them in separately on every page, not using the variable continued option?
